FITUR, the global meeting point for tourism professionals and the leading trade fair for inbound and outbound markets in Ibero-America, opened its doors at IFEMA in Madrid, offering all visitors a unique experience related to tourism, leisure and gastronomy.

With the aim of promoting leisure activities related to our Merino breed, and highlighting the relationship between it, tourism and the territory, the National Association of Merino Livestock Breeders, in collaboration with the Royal Federation of Livestock Associations Selecto and with the General Subdirectorate of Means of Livestock Production of MAPA, starred in the presentation “The return of the Merina”, with tasting included, the institutional stand of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

The title of the paper “The return of the Merina” has a double connotation. On the one hand, it refers to the triumphant return of Merina to both fashion and haute cuisine and, on the other hand, it invites you to return to Spain following the “Caminos de la Merina”.our country was vertebrate by the “Cañadas Reales” granted for the benefit of Merino sheep, in order to promote and facilitate transhumance as a means of exploiting grazing resources.

In this sense, the occasion was used to promote the “Caminos de la Merina” Project, presenting the website www.caminosdelamerina.com with an exciting presentation video.
